Nothing says spring like Asparagus. This is great recipe I got from my friend Courtney. Roasted Asparagus with Spicy Miso mixes the smoky flavor of oven roasted asparagus with tangy, healthy miso and the deep flavor of tamari, all with a spicy kick at the end. Leave the peppers off for less bling. Fast, yummy, different…..perfect recipe to me.
Roasted Asparagus with Spicy Miso

Yield 4 -6 servings
Salty, spicy, easy prep for fresh spring Asparagus. If you Miso is thick soften with a teaspoon of boiling water.
Ingredients
- 1-2 bunchs fresh Asparagus, rinsed, tough ends snapped off
- 1/4 cup Tamari or Soy Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon Hatcho Miso (can use any kind, but I like the dark stuff)
- 1 teaspoon Roasted Sesame Oil
- sprinkle Red Pepper Flakes
- Sesame or Sunflower Seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Heat Grill to high
- Drizzle or spritz Asparagus very lightly with olive oil.
- Mix the Soy, Oil, Miso and Pepper Flakes well
- Spread the asparagus in a single layer on a baking sheet and grill 8-10 minutes, turning once
- They should have a little color but not be soggy
- Drizzle the Miso dressing over and sprinkle with sesame or sunflower seeds
